The Brackley round of Rotary's 2016 Young Musician Competition was held on 12 November at Waynflete Hall, Magdalen College School.

The annual competition is for students up to the age of 17, enabling them to gain experience performing in public.

There were 28 acts involving 90 talented young musicians from local schools, demonstrating their vocal or instrumental skills, modern or classical.
The overall winner of the Brackley round for the second consecutive year was the winner of the Senior Solo Vocal Section, Robyn Turnbull, who accompanied herself on the keyboard. She attends Towcester Rock School and she is a student at Sponne School, Towcester.

Another solo vocalist, Hannah Fowles, was runner-up.

The annual event is dedicated to the memory of Marc Coleman; local headteacher, musician (co-founder of Brackley Music School) and Brackley Rotarian.
