The Brackley round of Rotary's 2015 Young Musician Competition was held on 14 November at Waynflete Hall, Magdalen College School.

The annual competition is for students up to the age of 17, enabling them to gain experience of performing in public.

In the Brackley competition there were 20 acts involving 70 talented young musicians from local schools demonstrating their vocal or instrumental skills, modern or classical.

The overall winner of the 2015 Brackley round was the winner of the Senior section, Robyn Turnbull, vocalist and keyboard player. She attends Towcester Rock School and is a student at Sponne School, Towcester.
Robyn goes on to the Rotary district semi-final in St. Ives, Cambridgeshire on 6 March.

The annual event is dedicated to the memory of Marc Coleman; local headteacher, musician (co-founder of Brackley Music School) and Brackley Rotarian.

Youth Speaks Competition:
Teams compete in both the Intermediate and Senior sections of our Youth Speaks Competition at Chenderit School on 27November. The competition promotes confidence in public speaking.

We arranged Mock Interviews for 138 students at Magdalen College School in October 2014 and for 170 students at Chenderit School in February 2015.
We are grateful for the material support of the Friends of Brackley Rotary for this event.

We organised the 7th Brackley Wine Festival in the Town Hall on 25 April 2015 raising £878 for Rotary charities.

Two photographs of the event are shown below.

See our News page for more information on the Wine Festival and other activities.
